The WEB and wireless (WiFi) still amaze me.  Even when access is a bit pricey, the ability to be connected at any time is truly remarkable for us old timers.  I still remember my old CompuServe login id!  That was from back in the day when a 2400 baud modem was the snizzle.   (OK, who knows if that is the correct vernacular, I am too old to know the current lingo.)  I would be even more impressed if I was typing this on a smart phone.  I won’t get one for myself but I did enjoy having one while I was working on the Windows Mobile team.

Traveling and vacations definitely impact the choices that I make for meals.  When you don’t have a kitchen and you are eating out all the time, it is more difficult to stick to the "best" foods to maintain balance.  Live and learn.  I make better choices most of the time, but when I get extra hungry because I missed a meal or a snack I will definitely choose poorly.

I have been off drugs for about three weeks without noticeable ill effect.  I hope this "remission" lasts a while.  I was able to use a gym facility during the time I have been away so I have been building my cardio back up.  Given my diet I have just been maintaining my "lard ass" state.  That is how I feel even if I am significantly lower in weight than I was three years ago.  It is amazing to me how much the body adapts.  First to being fit, then ill, then returning to a decent level of fitness.  The last couple of weeks haven’t been a cake walk, but I am getting back to a level of fitness that I had prior to getting ill.  Still trying to redefine what normal is for me.  Weird.

I get to spend the next 8.5 hours chasing the sun in a plane.   I am pretty sure the sun is going to win the race, but it will be fun to try.  :)  The hard part is spending that much time in a small little seat.  Blech.  I hope the in flight movies are better than on the flight out!
